Serendipity

Every spring the St. Rose community celebrates the arts with music performances, artistic displays, and dancing performances. All of the student body is welcome to join and celebrate with their peers. St. Rose’s art teachers, Mrs. Sakorski and Mrs. Fulton, work all year with all of their art classes, especially the AP classes, to create fine displays of all of the projects.

The music performances were sung by the St. Rose Choir. The choir performs for all of the student body at all of the St. Rose masses. However, they had the opportunity to sing some modern and classic songs at Serendipity. As well as, some students were offered the opportunity to sing duets and solos. These beautiful pieces were sung by the group and directed by their wonderful teacher, Mrs. Madden, who also plays the piano for the members of the group.

The St. Rose dance team performed for all those at the show as well. The team, as well as competing in competitions, dancing at basketball games, and dancing at festivals, danced their hearts out in Serendipity. The senior captain of the dance team, Hannah Gammond, stated that, “It was great to be able to dance in front of a crowd that was there to celebrate the arts! It’s like our own special night and it was really special to me because I am passionate about what I do and to have people come out and support  the team and what we work hard to do really warmed my heart.”

The parents and families of the performers and artist are welcomed to join celebrate all of the final products of the students. Each senior was also recognized and acknowledged for their accomplishments in all of their years in St. Rose. Given the opportunity to showcase the arts is an opportunity for any audience. Even if you do not consider yourself an artistic person, you can still observe and appreciate the all of the arts for others. Serendipity gives each student the ability to take pride in their hard work in a non academic way. Rather, Serendipity gives an opportunity to the students of St. Rose to express themselves in their own unique way.
